“Capturing Egypt” – by Noreen Doyle March 18th, 2008 - Tuesday night at 7:00PM Place: 160 Water Street - Harlow Gallery – Hallowell, ME Open to the public, free.
Noreen will present a slide show on touring and photography of Egypt, primarily to places associated with Akhenaten, the "heretic king" widely described as the world's first monotheist. Her second trip, in January 2007, was taken as an independent traveler. An archaeological team working at Wadi Gawasis, on the Red Sea coast, had invited me to visit, so I spent time at the excavation site as well as at some other places of interest, including Luxor and Cairo. Noreen's book "OtherWorldly Maine" will be published by Down East Books in August, 2008 and Noreen is currently busy writing for an upcoming book on world mythology, as well as other novels.
